  • 4 tbsp sugar

  • 3 eggs (beaten)

  • 3 tbsp hot chocolate powder

  • 1 butter

  2. Spinkle over 3 tbsp of the sugar.
  3. Mix together the eggs, milk and chocolate powder and pour slowly over the bread slices.
  4. Spinkle the rest of the sugar over the top and leave dish to stand for 30 minutes.
  5. Pre-heat oven to Gas Mark 4 and bake for about an hour or until top has turned a nice brown.

Handy Hint

Add more chocolate powder if you want it richer or spread Nutella onto the bread.

Very tasty and versatile and a great way to use up left-over bread. You can ring the changes by omitting the chocolate powder and just spreading the bread with jam or Marmalade.
