  • 3oz sugar

  • 3oz golden syrup

  • 8oz oats

  • 1oz cornflakes crushed

  • 1 banana mashed

  • 4oz butter


  1. Combine the sugar, syrup and butter and melt together.
  2. Mix crushed cornflakes with the oats and add butter mixture, then mix in the banana.
  3. Pour into a 8inch x 5inch tin and level top.
  4. Bake 170C for 25-30 mins, until slightly golden - do not overcook.
  5. Mark into bars and leave to cool.

Handy Hint

You can use dried apricots too- soak for 30 mins in warm water/orange jiuce and puree with a hand blender. Try to make it not too wet. Use the puree instead of banana.

    These came out really well. Second time I had run out of bananas and cornflakes so used grated apple and rice crispies instead. Still delicious.
