10 smashing summer beauty products for £20 or less
Summer is sort of upon us, so to help you prepare, we've rounded up a selection of Mumsnetters' bargain seasonal quick-fixes from our rather useful reviews section.
"This makes me feel like a better version of myself. I look healthy and have a lovely even tone. I have never worn foundation before because of freckles, but am now a total convert!"
2. Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil - Rosehip, £9.99
"A gorgeous smelling body oil that felt rich but not too heavy. It sank into skin quickly, meaning I could get dressed almost immediately. It improved the appearance of the stretchmarks on my tummy within two weeks."
3. Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream, £15
"Once you get used to the 'press and roll' technique, this cleansing cream will do wonders for your skin. It leaves my skin soft and not at all dry. A little goes a long way. There's nothing like it!"
4. Aldi Lacura Q10 Moisturising Cream, £10 for 50ml
"This ranks up there with the best at a tenth of the price. It sinks in really well on me, smells nice enough and keeps my skin nice and moist! What more can you ask for really?"
5. Batiste Dry Shampoo, £2.99
"This is THE most amazing time-saving beauty product I have ever found. Your hair actually looks clean and not greasy at all. My hair also went very limp after my first pregnancy and this adds some body. Lasts all day and they have different fragrances to disguise the smell of baby sick, and different types for different coloured hair."
6. Tweezerman Mini Slant Tweezer, £12.50
"Have tried other tweezers but these are truly the best; they never blunt and I believe you can get them re-sharpened for free, although I have never had to do that."
7. Ultrasun SPF 30 Face, £19.95
"I use this as a moisturiser as well as SPF. The SPF is high, and only needs to be applied once a day. It has UVA and UVB protection. As a moisturiser, it isn't too heavy but still feels creamy. Sinks in very fast and keeps my skin well moisturised."
8. Green People Vitamin Shampoo, £9.85
"Gorgeous, just gorgeous. Other shampoos leave my hair kind of dead and crispy feeling. When I touch it after using this one it's lustrous."
9. Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara, £6.99
"This is the best mascara I have ever used. Good value for money - I stock up when it is three for two, which makes it half the price of the brand I used to use. Gives really long, curvy lashes. Good staying power."
10. Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector, £5
"Totally fabulous for dry skin. Absorbs quickly and has a great feel. Long lasting as you don't need much and it survives a quick hand wash. Also great for slathering onto feet and then putting socks on top if you have really dry heels."
