How to make eyeball cake pops

These cake pop eyeballs are the perfect make to do with little ones. They make great sweet treats for Halloween, and if you're hosting a party they can also be wrapped and popped in party bags. All you need are a few metres of ribbon or twine, a treat bag and luggage tags.

Time to allow: One hour to make six plus setting time

You will need:

  • Batch of 12 cake pops
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Candy Melts - suggested: black
  • White, orange and purple Renshaw icing
  • Black food pen

 

How to make

  1. Once your cake pops have completely cooled after coming out of the oven, it's time to start decorating
  2. Melt your chosen Candy Melts as per the pack instructions
  3. Dip the lollipop stick into the melted chocolate and then insert into the cake pop, leave to set
    TOP TIP – Leave your cake pop to set in the silicone cake pop mould
  4. Once set, dip the cake pop into the melted chocolate and, using a swirling motion, cover the cake pop completely in chocolate
  5. Leave to set in the cake pop stand
  6. Roll out the white Renshaw icing and cut 12 circular discs to form the white part of the eye
  7. Next, roll out 12 smaller circles to form the coloured iris of the eye, this can be in any colour you like, but bright colours tend to work best. Use a little bit of water on the back to stick this centrally to the white disc
  8. Using a black food pen, mark the pupil in centrally. Leave to dry
  9. Once dry stick the icing to the cake pop, again using a little bit of water on the back of the bottom disc
  10. Leave to set
