How to make a button whale

Make a splash with this cute button whale. This simple project is sure to keep little fingers busy - a great holiday activity, and better still, it won’t break the bank. With a sprinkling of buttons, some foam, glue and pens, together you can craft this marvelous mammal – and have a whale of a time in the process! 


button whaleYou will need

  • Blue foam sheet
  • Blue buttons
  • White button (for the eye)
  • Blue glitter glue
  • Black pen
  • PVA glue
  • Scissors

Allow an hour to make, plus drying time.

How to make

  1. Cut a whale shape out of the blue foam.
  2. Cover the foam in the buttons, gluing each one on one at a time.
  3. Once dry, glue a white button on and draw on an eye using the pen.
  4. Decorate your whale with glitter glue and leave to dry.
