Movie Maker Mission
To celebrate the anniversary, Historic Royal Palaces has teamed up with Aardman Animations to animate 500 years of history into a fun, five-minute film. However, they need your help!
It's a huge mission and they need your drawings to make it happen. Why not book one of their animation workshops (available on selected dates between June - August) for families and 11-19 year-olds at Hampton Court Palace?
Discover the history of the palace, meet characters from the past, learn animation techniques and contribute a drawing for the film. Find out more.
Don't worry if you can't make the workshops, children can still get involved at home by exploring the interactive timeline and entering a drawing into the online competition. Find out more.

Queen Anne’s Summer Palace (8-9 August)
Queen Anne, the last Stuart monarch, loved art, music, ceremony and ritual., Step back into the 18th century court with music from the magnificent Gabrieli Consort & Players, dancing in the Privy Garden and lessons in the dining and court etiquette.
Family trail (All day, every day)
Be inspired by the palace's interior design and create your very own dream family home. Pick up a trail on the day of your visit and get designing.
There are lots of other exciting events for the whole family during the 500 year anniversary, from actors performing a series of micro plays to Tudor chefs roasting meat on the open fire in the Tudor Kitchens.
To celebrate Hampton Court Palace's 500 year anniversary, Historic Royal Palaces is giving away one annual family membership - offering free and unlimited access to not only Hampton Court Palace but also to the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle.
Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after these palaces. Its aim is to help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built.
