Supermarket food and drink to get your Christmas party started
There's nothing quite like a Yuletide gathering, is there? Tesco gave us a sneak preview of their festive fare. Here's our pick, to make your party stand out
This festive fizz has notes of apple, white flowers, citrus, grapefruit and honey. Mention that in passing to guests, as you serve, to boost your oenophile credentials.
Animal print is SO in this season. Inspired by Roberto Cavalli's latest collection no less, these chocs would make lovely gifts. Mind you, they'd be even lovelier scoffed at night on the sofa, when the kids are in bed and the guests have all gone.
How could you not serve vodka that's been purified through charcoal plates. This French Grain Vodka makes a great base for a Christmas cocktail, but it's so refined you could serve it neat. Go one better and make some frozen shot glasses to serve it in.
You mean you don't do this already? Christmas doesn't get much more poncetastic than the Tesco Finest Smoke At Home Ham kit which, apparently, is a supermarket first. It has everything you need to finish the cooking process off by smoking the ham in your own kitchen and even comes with a lovely board for you to serve it on.
Shake up your cheese course this Christmas by serving these Cheese Bauble Truffles. Made from creamy cheese, and filled with chutney, they'll make your cheeseboard memorable for all the right reasons.
Because one variation just doesn't suffice. This variety pack features three smoked salmons, flavoured variously with lemon and pepper, beetroot and roasted chestnut.

This is a sweet reinvention (literally) of the traditional cheese board. One has a passionfruit and mascarpone filling, one is a white chocolate blondie, there's also a vanilla panna cotta and a lemoncello and pistachio mousse. Clever.
