Save The Children Week

royal-wedding-meercatsDonate your wedding veil and help protect a child from malaria with a MumsNET

You may have noticed that there's a bit of a Royal Do planned for this Friday, when Kate will finally make an honest fellow of Wills.

To mark this auspicious occasion - and raise funds for World Malaria Day - Save The Children are asking Mumsnetters to donate their wedding veils. The money raised will help to pay for mosquito nets for children in the developing world.

Sleeping under a mosquito net dipped in insecticide dramatically reduces the chance of a child contracting malaria, which kills 1-3 million people each year, the vast majority of whom are under-fives.

Donate your wedding veil - or indeed, any other quality goods you can spare - to any Save The Children shop, or donate £5 by texting NET to 81819. You'll be raising funds to buy a MumsNET for a vulnerable child.
