About the book
You survived The Accident, lived The Lie and discovered The Missing. Now it's time to make The Escape.
When a stranger asks Jo Blackmore for a lift she says yes, then swiftly wishes she hadn't. Somehow, the stranger knows Jo's name, she knows her husband Max and she's got a glove belonging to Jo's two-year-old daughter Elise. What begins with a subtle threat swiftly turns into a nightmare as the police, social services and even Jo's own husband turn against her.
No one believes that Elise is in danger. But Jo knows there's only one way to keep her child safe and that's to RUN.
The Escape is already chilling its readers with its intriguing storyline and gasp-inducing twists that only C L Taylor can pull off.
“The family's pain is palpable and the author immediately draws you in to the mother's nightmare. Once I started to read I didn't want to put the book down, which is testament to the author's ability to get inside your head.”
“I honestly had no idea what was going to happen and actually guessed wrong. I have to say as a mother I think you really connect to the fear of a missing child. Overall a brilliant read.”
“The book was unputdownable and I thought it reached an unexpected conclusion. I kept changing my mind as the story unfolded as to who the killer was. Good for fans of the TV series Broadchurch.”

A note from the author
My name is Cally Taylor. I write psychological thrillers as C L Taylor and live in Bristol with my partner and our five-year-old son. The Escape is my fourth psychological thriller and it was partly inspired by a local news story. A mother, who was due to attend court to hand over residency of her young son, decided to go on the run instead. The police appealed to the public for information about her whereabouts, implying that the child's safety was in danger. I followed the case with some interest, particularly on Avon and Somerset Constabulary's Facebook page. Initially, all the comments were from concerned members of the public but then the woman's friends and family started commenting, implying that there was more to the case than met the eye and the woman was on the run to protect her child. As I read the comments I started to wonder how I would feel if no one believed that my child was in danger and the idea behind The Escape was born.
