Meet the Parents: January giveaway
Ever had to apologise to a stranger for something your child has done? Found yourself hunting for a beloved toy late into the night? Eaten your child’s cold leftovers? Had to carry not only the shopping but the coats, scooters, toys and children home too?
This book is for you. Meet the Parents is a brand-new picture book as much for parents and carers as children, with lots of recognisable family scenarios played out in rhyming text and vibrant illustrations from the artist behind Dogs Don't Do Ballet.
It's a funny and heartwarming celebration of all that parents do for their children.
Children may think their parents are only there to boss them around and tell them what to do. And there's no getting away from it - parents do have to do quite a lot of that! But this picture book explains just some of the many other things mums and dads do to make life great if you're young, from helping out with building dens to mending toys and solving problems and, of course, giving plenty of cuddles and tickles.
Peter Bentley's rhyming text is paired with Sara Ogilvie's wonderful artwork, illustrating both the joy and frustration of universal childhood moments, and perfectly capturing the parent-child dynamic in a range of funny and all-too-familiar situations.
A real treat for parents and children to share - showing children that mums and dads have to put up with things, too.
