Salvage by Keren David

salvageWhen a family is torn apart, everything is fractured: memories, identities, relationships. What can be salvaged?

Discover the book that has been called 'life-affirming, witty and uplifting' (Daily Mail), 'compassionate' (Financial Times) and 'a gripping ride' (The Guardian).

Aidan Jones is a survivor. He's survived an abusive step-father and an uncaring mother. He's survived crowded foster homes and empty bedsits. He's survived to find Cass.

For sixteen-year-old Cass Jones – now Montgomery – memories of her birth family have disappeared with her last name. But when her loving adoptive family in their leafy Home Counties town starts to break down, a way out comes in the form of a Facebook message from her lost half-brother, Aidan, from whom she was separated after spending their young years together in the foster care system.

Having Aidan back in her life is both everything she needs and like nothing she expected. Who is this haunted boy who calls himself her brother? If only he can make her understand what it means to be part of his family…

Provocative contemporary issues – class, race, adoption – are examined in Keren David's trademark approachable and compulsively readable style, through compelling characters that stay with you long after the last page.
