Mr Gum Collection audiobook

Mr Gum book jacketKate Winslet has recorded four of author Andy Stanton's best loved Mr Gum stories. The tales of zany happenings, curmudgeonly protagonists and riotous fun are now available on CD and download formats from AudioGO.

The multi-award winning Titanic star, loves to read children's stories, especially those which indulge her fondness for practical jokes and iconoclastic characters. Further recordings of the comical Mr Gum are planned in the future so your youngsters won't be deprived once they're hooked.

The four titles are:

You're a Bad Man, Mr Gum!
Introduces this complete horror who hates children, animals, fun and corn on the cob. It includes an angry fairy who lives in his bathtub, Jake the dog (who must be saved from terrible, terrible evil), and an evil stinky butcher who's all covered in guts.

Mr Gum and the Biscuit Billionaire
The eponymous anti-hero is as nasty as ever in this second hilarious story, in which Mr Gum and Billy William are plotting to steal cash from a gingerbread man with electric muscles called Alan Taylor. It's up to young Polly to save the day.

In Mr Gum and the Goblins that old roo-de-lally Mr Gum and the hideous Billy William the Third are once more mucking things up for everyone. They're a-schemin' and a-hatchin' an' making their bad plans up on Goblin Mountain. In an epic tale of courage, valour and plain idiocy only one thing is sure: the truth is a lemon meringue!

Mr Gum and the Power Crystals is a spooky story in which we encounter an old tumble-down windmill with a terrible secret. And why is Mr Gum lurk-lurk-lurkin' about? Once more, it's up to nine-year-old Polly to get to the bottom of things.

The Author:

AndyAndy Stanton lives in North London. He studied English at Oxford but they kicked him out. He has been a film script reader, a cartoonist, an NHS lackey and lots of other things. He has many interests, but best of all he likes cartoons, books and music (even jazz).

One day he'd like to live in New York or Berlin or one of those places because he's got fantasies of bohemia. His favourite expression is 'Good evening' and his favourite word is 'captain'. Andy has now written more than one book, but less than ten.
