The Forgetting Time: What our bloggers thought
The Forgetting Time is the stunning debut novel from New York-based writer Sharon Guskin. It tells the story of Noah, a four year old who seems to remember the life of another boy: a boy from a completely different part of America. A boy who is missing.
As Noah's behaviour – and his distress – worsens, Janie seeks help. But a series of specialists can't reveal any answers, and eventually, much to her dismay, they suggest she medicate the problem away with strong antipsychotic drugs. She then meets Dr. Anderson, a psychiatrist who has been shunned by his profession for his ongoing research into people who claim they remember their past lives – and who can prove it. With his help, could there be a way out for Noah? And if there is, might it mean losing him forever?
