Welcome to the 2014 Easter Craft Round-up
Easter weekend is finally upon us, but the crafting began long before the big day - bonnet competitions (do check out our brilliant 'how to' videos on this), elaborate chocolate nests, painted eggs - whatever the festive craft, a primary school teacher/Brown Owl/peer has probably been chivvying your child to make it.
We enlisted the very lovely Chris Mosler - who blogs at Thinly Spread - to guest edit a shiny new Easter 2014 craft round-up, packed full of inspiration, tips and some flippin' impressive makes. Over to Chris...
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my wander through all the fabulous craft blog posts linked up for this year's Mumsnet Easter Round-Up. I've rummaged about in blogs which are new to me and returned to familiar places I haven't visited for a while and I've had so much fun! But, goodness, it has been hard to choose just a handful to showcase here. There's been so much fab stuff that it has been impossible to include everything, so please do check out ALL the posts on the linky below, and your Easter crafting will be sorted!
This brilliant idea from The Spirited Puddle Jumper is so simple and it made me chuckle. I've always loved marbling paper with marbling inks but here she does it with actual marbles - genius!
I'm always keen to try new things and needle felting has been on my list for quite a while now. Jen from the Madhouse shared some cute little felted wool Easter chicks and these adorable bunnies from Zing Zing Tree with their teeny carrots would make gorgeous Easter decorations!
I know crafting scares a lot of parents so here is something from Mumma Tells which will satisfy the messy play monster without making a mess! These sensory bunnies will keep little hands exploring and imaginations wandering for hours!
Anything which involves a bit of recycling always catches my eye and these absolutely fantastic hatching chicks from Damson Lane really stopped me in my tracks - aren't they glorious?!
There were lots of eggy ideas shared on the linky; these decoupage lovelies from Hodgepodge Craft are so delicate and so pretty!
Another one for little hands from Rebecca at Here Come the Girls - how satisfying to break all the eggshells and then put Humpty together again!

More egg decorating, this time using washi tape which Kate from Crafts on Sea assures us can be torn for your toddler while you are holding a bottle under your chin and feeding the baby at the same time. Perfect!
Maggy from Red Ted Art can always be counted on to share something I haven't seen before and this time it is Easter Glitter Egg Diorama; fiddly but fun and what a beautiful result!
Superman gets in on the action over at Mum of One, I love this idea and I know a small boy in my house who will too!
Finally, Easter wouldn't be Easter without a bonnet or two! Kelly at Domestic Goddesque has come up with this quite brilliant paper plate creation inspired by Philip Treacey - it made me gasp in admiration, so clever!

I promised I would show you this year's Thinly Spread bonnet if we managed to finish it in time. Our 2014 collection has a Spring flower theme and we're rather pleased with the result! Do pop over to my blog to see my daughter modelling it - she's a magnificent Easter Queen!
Happy Easter!
