How to Add a Metatag

What is a metatag?

A metatag is like a label attached to your blog and/or blogposts, telling the search engines what you’re all about.

Why to add a metatag to your blog

You know what your blog’s all about – but do your readers? To get your little fish noticed out there in the sea of blogs, and make sure it’s caught in the right net, you need to add a metatag.

Let the search engines know what you're about by going to 'Overview', then 'Settings' then 'Basic', and then press 'edit' where it says 'description' and add yours in.

How to add a metatag in Wordpress

Wordpress have a great explanation of what a metatag is and how to add one here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Meta_Tags_in_WordPress.

But there's a simpler way of adding a metatag to your blog; we suggest going to ‘Dashboard’ then ‘Settings’ then ‘General’ and adding a tagline here:

If you’ve got more time on your hands, you may want to download one of a plugin to try and add a metatag.
