How to get the most out of the Mumsnet Bloggers Network
You're here! Welcome to the Mumsnet Bloggers Network - we are so pleased to have you on board.
To get the most out of what we offer, there are a few things you should know about...
1) How to update your Bloggers profile
At the moment, you blogger profile is probably looking a bit sad: just your email address and blog URL. In order to update it with all sorts of exciting stuff like a photo and your Twitter handle you need to log into Mumsnet. You'll also be able to select the categories you want to belong to - and we've everything, from Food, to Family Life, to Feminism.
Once you've done that, go to 'My Mumsnet' in the top right hand corner, and then to 'My Account'. What you should now see is something like this, with a 'Blog Info' tab running across the top:
Click on 'Blog Info', and you'll see boxes where you can update your blog details. You will also be able to add a photo (it needn't be of you, if you'd rather remain anonymous!), which is well worth doing, because you'll need one to be on our featured bloggers sidebar.
You'll also be able to change the categories you belong to - these categories appear on the right hand side of our homepage, and your posts will appear in whichever you select. You can be in three at atime, and there's a drop down menu to choose from.
2) How to add the Mumsnet Bloggers badge
Once you've done all that, hop over and add our snazzy badge to your site to show you're a card-carrying Mumsnet blogger. You'll need one of these to appear as a featured blogger or review products for us (see below). It comes in a range of sizes so you can choose what works for your blog. Head over here to find the badge code and full instructions on how to add it.
3) Following us on Twitter
Next, dash over to Twitter and make sure you're following @MumsnetBloggers. If you think you've got a post worthy of a spot on our front page, or being blog of the day, tweeting it to us is the best way of making sure we read it - and you can keep up with news of competitions, linkys and events!
4) Joining the research panel
Fancy reviewing fabulous products, from Clinique skincare to Royal Caribbean cruise ships? Then you should become a member of our Bloggers Network Research Panel. As a member, you'll need to carry the widget (see left) on your blog, which displays all our bloggers' reviews and is a great way to amplify your posts. You can find out more about the Reseach Panel here, and email email@example.com if you've got any questions.
5) Getting in touch
Don't hesitate to get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any thoughts, queries or quibbles about our Network. For advertising inquiries, please email email@example.com.
Welcome aboard - and happy blogging!
