Specialized asked parents and found that they want a bike that fits their kids for about 30 months or three summers. The team did their research and found that kids aged five to 12 grow in their arms and legs faster than their torso. They needed to make a bike that was proportional and adjustable multiple times in the bike’s lifetime for quickly growing arms and legs to achieve the perfect fit.
Specialized understand that a new bike is a critical investment for families, and the Jett’s unique adjustability means it lasts longer. Adjustability comes in the form of two-hole positions for cranks, a long seatpost, and adjustable handlebars for extended reach. During ‘Bring Your Kids to Work Day’ they gathered data from their own kids, observing the mechanics of how they were riding.
