The School of Life is dedicated to good ideas for everyday living. We look at the big topics of life: How can we fulfill our potential? Can work be inspiring? Why does community matter? Can relationships last a lifetime? We don’t have all the answers, but we are intent on raising the key questions and pointing you in some of the right directions.
As any parent knows, it’s not easy to balance the competing demands of our family, work, play and love life, not to mention finding space to check in on our inner state.
The School of Life is delighted to be joining forces with Mumsnet, the UK’s busiest network for parents, to offer a range of talks, short courses, workshops and socials especially aimed at mums and dads.
From a more philosophical look at modern parenting with writer Alain de Botton, to an eight-week course with practitioner, Ed Halliwell on Mindfulness for Mums, we’ll be running a range of programme formats to suit every schedule.
Topics covered will include fresh perspectives on all the big issues facing parents, as well as the chance to forget about the kids and focus entirely on yourself. Sessions cost from £35 and take place at our premises in Central London.
Some highlights include:
Modern Parenting with Alain de Botton
Having it All with Roman Krznaric
Babies Brains with Charles Ferneyhough
Life 2.0 with Tom Chatfield
Books for Kids with The School of Life’s Bibliotherapist, Ella Berthoud
