Yoga

Is there a Yoga program that would appeal to men?

I have a miserable DS in Uni Lockdown.

He's missing the gym. And exercise really helps his mood.

He knows of my love for Yoga but says they are all
" too whispery"
He has admitted he's tempted though.
Any suggestions?

If he can keep up with Brian in the manly enough sounding , then he'd be doing well. It's bloody hard work and he'll be grateful for breathing...

'Not your mama's yoga' on youtube...about as masculine as it gets!

I’m a guy. I’ve been doing yoga on the peloton app. I never did yoga before but I’ve really gotten into it.

I suggested yoga to DS when he was moping around missing uni... three weeks later, he's completely addicted to it. And his posture is better, and he has limbered up all over.

If every guys get funny about yoga I remind them that its how Robert Downey Junior and Hugh Jackman stay fit for stunts
(yeah the latter does steroids to bulk, but Yoga prevents injuries)

Also, watching England v South Africa at Twickenham, watching the squads warm up and recognising chunks of a BodyBalance routine was a laugh
Corey Baird is a legend

I think yoga aimed at men is marketed as stretching rather than yoga, sounds more "manly" Grin

I’ve been doing DDP Yoga for a few years and during the latest lockdown DH has joined. He loves it.

Hi

Fiit app have male instructors chris magee & ritchie norton.

Ritchie norton (rugby player) has some classes on youtube & did some with fearne cotton. Definitely not whispery!

I hope he finds something he enjoys.

My husband really enjoys Yoga with Adrienne. Sure she's female but she doesn't take herself too seriously, the tone is warm but not at all whispery. I'd describe her style as happily unisex. He much prefers her to the Macho Yoga for Men TM types. I now refer to her as DH's bendy girlfriend Grin

DH started with yoga with Adrienne but now does Yoga with Tim, which he finds more challenging he also uses the Downdog app.

DS likes the Flo Yoga guy on You Tube.

These are brilliant suggestions. I'm glad he's not the only chap thinking about it.
I'm a big fan of Adrienne and also Pilates with Rachel so I need to avoid anything he has seen his fat, middle aged mum do!
I might have a look at a few of these myself

I can't bear Adrienne I must admit. I love Brian but need to build up to him! Not for the unfit!

Dylan Werner on Alo Yoga has some strength programmes they are v. v. tough. Patrick Beach and Josh can remember his last name do similar.
