Starting New Yoga Class this week

Hi everyone

I started yoga well over a year ago when a new gym opened near me. I got surprisingly into it (surprising to me I mean) and did it at least twice a week in evening yoga classes and had good relationship with my yoga teachers who were very nice to me and everyone else
That all stopped due to Covid and gym although reopened is not going back to any of their previous classes

So I found out my community centre are reopening and starting Yoga classes so I am booked in for Thursday evening.
I have not been to my community centre since march cos of Covid (Covid ruined everything for me) and I have not done yoga since March either.

I know it will be ok, the lady doing it is actually my friend! So I know it will be ok, but I am autistic and more obviously so since lockdown. I am a bit worried about it but I know it will be ok. Thursday was always “yoga evening” at the gym so in my mind it was meant to be... but it is still a change I am not always very good at that!

Not sure really why I am posting, but it is bank holiday and three day weekend just by my own has got me stressing about lots of things things.

I think I am looking forward to getting back into yoga again, my friend says she will take it easy as we all a bit rusty (I cannot do stuff online like lots of people do so have not been able to do anything) and I will be taking my own mat so that is good Smile

Anyone else getting back into yoga? Maybe someone else has had to find new yoga to try too

Getting back into yoga will be great. I do understand to a certain extent the impact that lockdown can have. I have started doing hot yoga post lockdown, and had to really push myself to do it! Enjoy it, yoga is worth our time!

Thank you Bellainey Yes I do feel like I am looking forward to it even though apprehensive!
I think once I get the first one out the way it will feel more “normal” being back in the swing of it
Yoga is definitely good for me though Smile

I've just started going back to the studio. It's great, so much better than practicing at home and love the energy of the class.

I changed from Vinyasa to Hatha. Love the slowness of the class and connecting breath to pose

Enjoy your class.

That is great zaraw Smile well done getting back into it
I do like yoga and will be fine once I have done one.
My brain often has a sort of block on doing anything new or different but once I have done it I am usually ok.
I have even got the courage to message a different gym (still within walking distance like my old gym) and they are arranging for me to go up and see the manager there for a chat as they do fitness classes like what I used to go to pre lockdown.
I am being very brave and trying to get back into doing things. It is scary starting out everything again from scratch but everyone is being very nice so I am lucky
Here’s to happy yoga times for all of us again Smile
