Yoga for kids - what do you think?

Hi there,
After years of stretching and mulling it over I'm finally taking the plunge to start teaching yoga classes for children. I don't have kids myself (although used to be a classroom teacher some years ago) and I'm hoping here to find out a little more about what's important to parents of 4-11 year olds when it comes to choosing after school activities for kids. Have you ever heard of yoga for kids? Would you ever consider it? What would be important for it to be/have if you were to consider it? Thanks so much for any thoughts you're willing to share.

My DDs primary school offers yoga for kids and the school uses a course on YouTube for PE. The kids appear to enjoy it but it doe move much faster than the practice an adult does.

There are yoga classes for kids at the studio I go to. They are very popular.

My kids are 7 and 4 and both do Yoga. They picked it up off me and it just stuck. Now they grab a mat and throw on a Tibetan CD whenever they fancy it. I think it's a fantastic idea to teach it. I credit yoga for my kids being so laid back. Good luck, I hope its very successful.

Yes I've heard of it - Yoga Girl London sometimes does classes for younger kids. It's great for flexibility and mindfulness In kids. When I have them I hope to take them to yoga x

My DD had yoga almost every week at nursery (from a fully qualified yoga teacher) and she loved it! She's just started school and I'm hoping there's another kids yoga class running locally... if not, You Tube it is!

I introduced my kids to Cosmic Kids Yoga on you tube and they enjoy it. She tells a story using a green screen and yoga moves.

My two have just turned 3 and I will have them do more yoga if I can as I think it will benefit them in the long run!

Why are you restricting it to 4-11 year olds? DD1 is 13 and would love to do yoga classes, but nobody does children’s classes in my area.
