I have a birthday with a 0 coming up and am thinking of treating myself to a Kaliyoga retreat trip … am not experienced at yoga but keen to give it a go and have always done some exercise so am fairly fit(ish!) Haven't travelling by myself before so am a little nervous ...has anyone got experience of this company/want to tell me about their yoga retreat trips/etc please. Keen to hear your views/stories

Hi midnightmoon8, I went to Kaliyoga a few years ago and loved it! I went to the one in Italy and it was amazing.

The resident teacher is called Tashi and she is brilliant. I thought I would find it overwhelming and physically exhausting as I was only a couple of years into practice but it was fine, challenging but not overwhelming. In fact I came home and started a home practice as Tashi encouraged us to and my practice grew and I ended up training to be a Yoga teacher myself and that is now my main job!.

The house in Italy and surrounding areas are stunning, the food was delicious and it was just awesome. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Thank you for your reply badhairallthetime, that's great to hear. Was the room sharing ok? Not sure I can fork out for the single room supplement but am a bit nervous about sharing with a stranger...

I didn't share a room as I was fortunate at the time to have just had a little windfall so I treated myself. But all the women I met who did share found it fine and got on really well. I made some great friends there too. It all feels a bit weird to begin but after 24 hours or so, in my group anyway, we were all firm friends!
