Which are your most dreaded poses?

And I know, the most dreaded are the ones you need to practice!

Mine is half moon pose. I practice it a lot at home but remain crap at it.

Most loved is crane pose as I have recently finally mastered it!

Virasana / hero pose. Feel like my calves will burst like an overstuffed sausage.

Flying lizard. I just can't get it.

The crow

I'll never manage it!

I'm a newbie to yoga, but currently downward facing dog is my nemesis. No upper body strength and tight leg muscles.

I can’t do hero at all! My feet are too bony which is completely ridiculous!

Hero pose - but when you lie back on the floor and get that big —pain— stretch along the tops of your thighs. Is that hero?

Shock

Pyramid pose. I get all giddy with my head down and start to lose my balance.

For some reason I'm good at crow pose better than my kids too. I can't do free stand handstands though.

I wonder if there's a link I struggle with crow as I feel a bit dizzy but find pyramid easy

Yeah thats Hero citrus, its bloody awful!
I think you have to just go for it with crow and try not to face plant!
Gonna try bird in a basket today

Forearm balance. No problem when I have a wall to rest on and kick up. Without it I just can't do it. I need to work on my shoulder strength.

Forearm balances here as well - I can't even do Dolphin without grimacing.

Hmm..... Currently on day 3 of yoga with adrienne and have googled some of the poses mentioned.... I'm impressed and in awe. I don't think I'll ever get there!

Half moon is a bum face, I've no balance so I fell over all the time.

The lunges and goddess pose are my worst as it bloody hurts my knees and thigh muscles. I'm getting there in small chunks though.

I've just managed to get to grips with chaturanga but can't hold it for very long yet. And I thought I'd never manage it.

My best are hip opening poses like bird of paradise and garland pose and I can get into crow now that I've realised that have to get into it slowly, making sure your legs are well on your triceps and your head has to be a counter balance, so gaze forward and head up all the time.

Crow

I’ve tried and tried and watched 100 YouTube videos too, but can’t do it. Dh, never done yoga in his life, can do it easily.

Bird in a basket becomes a lot more accessible with blocks, put them behind your feet and rest your hands on them.

Tinycitrus · 06/06/2018 21:54

Lizard as well - I can do it but it’s bloody sore sometimes

I have been thinking of starting yoga. My problem is that I can't commit to a class due to childcare.

Would I be able to DIY using online resources etc?

I mastered crow after hours of practicing with a cushion to face plant into. Have never ever managed bird in a basket though. Annoyingly my eight year old can do it effortlessly!

25 years of yoga and I still can't get all the way in to Hanumanasana.
Need to let it go.
