Price of individual class?

I go to a regular yoga class which I love but the usual location is not available for two weeks so I won't be able to go. I am trying to arrange a one to one class on a different day and asked her about price but she has come back to me and asked me what i would suggest. Help! I have no idea what would be a reasonable rate. The usual class is £10.00 with about 6 people in the class. I don't want to say a ridiculously high rate but want to pay her a fair rate as I absolutely love her classes and wouldn't want to be insulting! If you do one to one classes what do you pay if that isn't rude to ask? Oh, it will likely be at my house so she won't have to pay room hire or anything.

The instructor at my class offers 1:1 sessions in the home for £30. The group class is normally £8. Hope this is helpful as a guide.

Thanks Sporting I used to be a massage therapist so I am particularly conscious of wanting to pay people a proper price for the skills they have to offer.

I pay £7 though she does a deal of 5 classes for £30.

Anasnake I assume that is for a group class though?

I've not been but a lady near me charges £35 per hour at her house. She charges £7 for a normal class. I'd expect to pay more if she was travelling to you, how much would depend on distance.

Thanks Bombardier she only lives 5 mins drive from me. My usual class is 3 mins walk from me which is awesome and one of the reasons I have managed to go regularly so far Grin

I pay £40 for 1:1 pilates which is at a studio. Her group classes there are capped at 5 people and are £10 each.

In the north(west), based on quite a lot of teachers I know, I’d say average would be £30-£35 per hour. Smile

Thanks so much for your help everyone. I suggested £40.00 and she came back and offered to do 75 mins so I feel very happy with the arrangement and really looking forward to my one to one class!

To be fair that's a strange way to work! I'm a Pilates instructor and wouldn't ask a client to suggest a price. Glad you've agreed on a price though.
