Who's up for a thread to discuss our progress this year? We've had threads following Adriene's 30 days of Yoga for the last few years so sign up now for January.

Based on the last few years I'll warn you now: watch out for day 6!!!!

Me! I loved it last year and then started doing yoga classes at the gym.

I much prefer Adriene's though.

Yup, I'm up for it too. Day 6, six pack abs Grin. Isn't Day 8 usually calm, though?

Love Adriene. I’m up for this. Are her windows real? The trees don’t seem to change.

I am desperate to get back into yoga. I dropped it a a couple of years ago and now my stiffness is putting me off! Which sounds silly I know.

I would like to join, can someone send me the link?

Me, me, me! Did it last year and loved it.

Is this a new 30 day yoga thing? I love her videos but I have nevef followed a whole 30 day series, just do them randomly. Sorry to sound thick but do tou actually "sign up/sign into" anything? Or do you just go on youtube and the new one is added on a daily basis?

I’ve signed up! I had to stop earlier in the year after an injury but I’m ready to go again.

Yes I’m in. Too much cardio and not enough stretching over the last 25 years and I’m stiff all over.
I really need to rethink my fitness from now on. Starting yoga and weights and cutting right back on cardio workouts in 2018.
I’ve joined a yoga class at my local adult education centre starting January and I’m really nervous.

I tried to do it last year and failed spectacularly due to DS and I constantly being ill. I have since been doing yoga 2-3 times a week, but I am really looking forward to another month-long challenge 👍🏾

I'm in. So looking forward to it! I have been a lazy toad in the whole of November and December!

Me in theory but I have a hand injury so I have to see how it goes as I’m not sure how much pressure I can put on them

I love Adrienne - I started doing revolutions again in November but stopped due to chaos of Christmas and I feel rubbish physically and mentally now (stupid hand not helping)

I did it last year, but not so well as I had tendonitis in my hamstring, so had to skip or modify loads. But I redid the Revolutions in May, and really enjoyed it. I usually do daily yoga at home, but had flu and a chest infection at the end of November and trying to get back to it with Christmas too. This should hopefully focus me on it again.

justkeeponsmiling it's free but if you sign up on Adriene's website you get daily email reminders and a calendar of the 30 days.

I signed up. Never done it before or her. What do I need to know?
Do I just need 30mins/day and a mat?

Report
museumum · 29/12/2017 10:51

Are there any rest days?

Report
museumum · 29/12/2017 10:52

I normally go to a studio once a week but January is just so busy I hate it.

Here's the sign up link!

No rest days but some practices are designed to be restorative.

And if you need a day off, take one, no punishment for looking after yourself ;-)

Last year I did it over probably 45 days. They are about an hour so it's a fair chunk of time.

Thanks. Have signed up. Am quite excited. I might try and get my 12 year old dd to do it with me. She is hyoermobile so I will have to monitor her but she could do with working in her core strength.

I am on Day 4! Enjoying it though twisting my head to look at my phone screen is probably wrecking my positions.

Never done it before but I've signed up for it. I am usually quite active but have been a complete sloth the last couple of months.

Are there any rest days?

No, but she concentrates on different thing each day so a harder vinyasa sequence will be followed by a slower stretchier day. Don't think yoga really needs rest days, if you're a proper yogi you'll not push yourself. That's the theory anyway!
