Through the practices of yoga, we discover that concern for the happiness and well being of others, including animals, must be an essential part of our own quest for happiness and well being. The fork can be a powerful weapon of mass destruction or a tool to create peace on Earth.

Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame.

What if our religion was each other
If our practice was our life
If prayer, our words

What if the temple was the Earth
If forests were our church
If holy water—the rivers, lakes, and ocean

What if meditation was our relationships
If the Teacher was life
If wisdom was self-knowledge
If love was the centre of our being.

"This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart, is our temple. the philosophy is kindness." HH Dalai Lama

love the quote, love HH Dalai Lama, but gently amused as he has spent his lifetime (s) studying the complex philosophy and religion of Tibetan Buddhism; only after going through this journey he is able to see / say that our heart / kindness is at the centre ;)) just as Buddha was a Hindu, Jesus was a Jew - we all have to go through our process to land home in our own heart.

The Goal Of Yoga
(No, it's not the handstand)

The yoga pose is not the goal. Becoming flexible is not the goal. Standing on your hands is not the goal.

The goal is the create space where you were once stuck. To unveil the layers of protection you have built around your heart. To appreciate your body and become aware of your mind and the noise that it creates.

To make peace with who you are.
The goal is to love, well... You.

Come to your yoga mat to feel, not to accomplish.
Shift your focus and your heart will grow.

"As large as the universe outside
even so large is the universe of the heart"
