Yoga porn. There is certainly a bit of that where I live.

That's why I'm hooked on yoga with Adriene. Despite being thin, beautiful and exceptionally good at what she does, she's very much in the non conformist, spiritual, inside-out, 'do your own thing' camp. Even her power yoga stuff is more about 'building inner strength' than getting the perfect whatever.

I really should do some Yoga with Adrienne but just can't find time home when alone for yoga. There is always something pressing that needs to be done, or kids/DH around.

I started going to free "community yoga" classes where there is a mix of people of all socioecenomic groups & body types. There it's all much less competitive, which feels good.

Having said that, there was an older lady the other day who seemed very uncomfortable so maybe not everyone felt it to be as welcoming and pressure-free as I did.

Do you know, when I saw 'yoga porn' I thought this was going to be about something different that popped up on my youtube despite all our parental controls.

LOL. I can't imagine what that would be like smile

Yup. The studio where I take my classes is a lot like this. Luckily for me I'm thin and reasonably conventionally attractive - because so is everyone else who goes there.

This is something I only really became aware of when I invited two of my co-workers along one evening after work. One of them is a very athletic, generically good looking man the other one a IMO gorgeous but clearly overweight woman. She turned down the invitation on the grounds that she'd be uncomfortable whereas he came along (and pulled off a perfect chaturanga on his first attempt, the bastard! envy) This was when it hit me that she probably would feel out of place among all of us more or less shapely stick figures in £100 athletic wear. It's a real shame as she's definitely someone who'd benefit a lot (and, no, I don't mean for weight loss but for stress management, which is the main reason why I practise yoga myself).

... Need to add, though: before I moved abroad I used to attend a very open to everyone yoga class in the UK. Slightly older not very fit looking instructor, attendees ranged from slight teen to make OAP with mobility issues. As much as I think this is great I went someplace else after a while because the class was waaaaaaaaaaay to unchallenging for my taste. The athletic highlight of the 90 minute session would consist of holding down dog for three breaths. I'm quite athletic and felt I needed more ...

I think that's why i like sean vigue.
A man doing yoga in falling down tracksuit bottoms is less intimidating than adriene/tara etc.

I still call my exercise clothes PE gear!! 27 years after leaving school. I wear nice clothes but any old 'PE gear'

I have to say that I mostly wear "PE gear" these days grin I have accumulated some very comfortable and naice yoga tights, bras, and tanks over the years, and (living in a warm climate) take great pleasure in wearing them rather often. Even when I don't plan to practice yoga. Very comfortable. I very rarely go back to heel and dresses.

My yoga classes are brilliant.

They're run by a slightly overweight middle aged lady who sells the holistic side of yoga not the competitive, designer hear wearing side at all.

The class is a maximum of 7 and all are different ages and abilities.
