god knows Marge... the dodgy hand of Henri I guess smile
I'm taking all of this far far too seriously... I need to eat more choc, drink more wine and relax
as I say to Ds1 every Saturday
It's just a game!
(mind you Ds1 and his team won his league!)

Ingles2 too - so totally know where your DS1 is coming from. My Mad Goonerest of Gooner brothers is exactly the same. He is on a gap year at the mo in .....Brazil - actually .... and even though he is an absolute England fan he was devastated with 'Francenal's performance. WHY oh WHY didn;t they get Thierry on, then???? What was that daft french manager on? It looked like he couldn't give a stuff didn't it?. Never mind. I'm sure Bro' will cheer up when Brazil win and he gets to celebrate.

Plus I have France in the works sweepstake, which seemed like a stroke of luck when they did the draw. Not so sure now.!

Ingles2 Fri 18-Jun-10 14:34:11

ErnestTheBavarian Fri 18-Jun-10 13:29:28

I've got the BBC on - "the Keeper's a tart (for falling over)" (serbian keeper) bloody spanish ref. Am surprised how supportive of the German team the commentary is

Ingles2 Fri 18-Jun-10 13:24:03

I know!!!!
and I'm listening to Chris Moyles commentary which is funny.
I'm meant to be working FGS!

ErnestTheBavarian Fri 18-Jun-10 13:20:00

Klose sent off, Gemany 1-0 down at half time shock

Ingles2 Fri 18-Jun-10 07:41:43

Agree totally with Ingles.

It's been great.

What did go through that Nigerian's mind when he attacked the Greek player? Just totally bizarre and unprovoked. And he seemed to surprised to get a red card!

Hop Schwiez!

I'm really into it early this time..
There's been so many shocks, The Swiss, the fouls, the Mexicans, it's been so fantastic and so unpredictable.
and as for France tonight...bloody hell, dreadful play.
ds1, a staunch Arsenal supporter, which is interchangeable with the French team of course, sat with his head in his hands it's given us loads to talk about.

Vuvuzuelas don't seem as loud tonight- dramatique is the word here on French tv

nancy75 Thu 17-Jun-10 20:54:39

the first games are always abit boring, little teams just defend against the big teams, so the gamea are never that great and this year the bloody vuvu horns are ruininng it for me - i like to hear the crowd singing

CatIsSleepy Thu 17-Jun-10 20:53:05

so far it has been a mixture of dullness and slightly odd results

I am not gripped by football fever just yet, it's fair to say grin

Meglet Thu 17-Jun-10 20:52:42

I've perked up now Mexico have scored grin.

GypsyMoth Thu 17-Jun-10 20:52:27

oh...and we've had fun confusing the neighbours, putting out the german flag....and painting faces in hollands colours!

GypsyMoth Thu 17-Jun-10 20:51:17

yes!! mexico have never beat france have they?

poppy34 Thu 17-Jun-10 20:50:42

Am in France watching... I think it's just got interesting grin

GypsyMoth Thu 17-Jun-10 20:50:38

i love the opening bit....national anthems watching them all sing, and cry!!

Meglet Thu 17-Jun-10 20:49:28
