Interested to know if anyone asks for feedback for every interview rejection?

I do because I am really really crap at interviews and doubly crap at Teams online interviews. Do M stuck in awful job.

They're usually not helpful tho.

I was going to ask the reverse of this the other day. I always ring candidates asap usually the same day nd the conversation ends up including a 'why' which I make as kindly and constructively as possible.. would people prefer just a bland rejection email a few days later? I try and avoid tmi unless it is asked for and then I try again to be both honest but constructive

After rejection and being offered a role. Always good to get constructive feedback

@Nitgel sorry its depressing. Its not often personal but just someone else fits the job better with experience etc

Whenever I interview people I always prepare feedback and try and give really constructive and specific examples. I always feel that if people give us their time to come to an interview then the least I can do is spend time on that.

Yes, but I would prefer it via email so I could process it in my own time.

Given the amount of time you invest into the application process of most places, I think it should absolutely be offered.

And be constructive! I hate ‘oh another candidate was just stronger’. Stronger in what? What should I work on?

@cheerfulpanda I have given some very risky but honest feedback previously. Risky because the more honest it is the more likely someone will complain about the process. But I genuinely wanted to help this person succeed

Stronger isn't something I use but I recognise a bland term like that and wait for the candidate to ask me exactly as you did....then describe what

I wish they would just say if they already have someone lined up. Maybe I should just ask. Sometimes I feel interviewers are just going through the motions and not even interested one bit on what I'm saying.
