Anyone else the only one NOT wfh?

Everyone in my office has been told they can continue to wfh and have flexitime as long as the works done... Me on the other hand have to remain in the office (reception). I work alone and finish at 2 so the office is completely shutdown at this time but management think this is ok. My issue is this, I pick up everyone's slack, all the phone calls I have to take all their messages as I can't divert it to them which slows me down...my colleagues call me several times a day asking me to look on their desks for paperwork they need and scan it over to them or have a look in the filing cabinets and dig out some documents etc. My workload has increased for them to wfh. We are not isolating now, ppl can get to the office but they choose not too. It's so frustrating! Is anyone in a same boat to me?

See it as a chance to change your job title to office manger (or whatever) and have a pay rise accordingly. Can you talk to your boss?

Totally agree. It seems the whole office now views the receptionist or office manager as their own PA!

You are doing the same hours, so if your time is more occupied than before, it suggests to me that you had spare capacity. And if there is nobody in the office, you must have less reception duties to undertake.

It perhaps makes sense to the company to have somebody in the office taking messages and locate items in the office for other staff. I think the question really comes down to, is this a role you are interested in having and it sounds like it is not.

God. I can imagine this is hellish. Say something ASAP and get an extra team member as well as a pay rise if you can.

Keep a log sheet tally of internal requests so you can back up your request with stats.

I agree - how long have you worked there? If under 2 years be careful - you are coming across in your post as change resistant and a bit of a slacker - I’d be concerned about your future in the organisation - you are doing the same hours and very light admin duties.

Have you / your manager completed a lone working risk assessment if you are the sole worker in a building?
There are health and safety considerations to take into account.
What about security and locking up etc?

What did your colleagues do before, when you weren't there to scan things for them and run around looking things up for them?
Is all this in your job description?

It all sounds a bit unplanned and not thought through.
