So...I went for a covid test and currently waiting results so am self isolating (legal requirement). Told my boss and he said I’d have to go back to work until a test proved I was positive. Said I had to carry on like I hadn’t got it until otherwise proven. Told him the covid test centre said me and dp have to self isolate until we get results and could take up to 5 days. Boss told me to use holiday for mon and tue and to get back to office wed. Told him I’d keep him up to date re test but couldn’t guarantee being back wed in case I don’t get result. He said by wed I’d be ok (not contagious...he’s no doctor!). I told him legally, I’m not allowed to come back until I get a negative result or I could get fined and when I had covid test, my test and trace app said to self isolate for 9 days (up to 18th Oct). He just repeated he’d see me on Wednesday! I said as it stands yes but depends on if we have results back. He then replied that I had to get back to the office, I asked if I could work from home as I’d been doing March til May and he refused saying I had to go back to the office. The way I’ve left it is that I’ll keep him posted on results and on Tuesday if I don’t get results back, I’ll phone him. I think this is so unreasonable but my job is at risk of redundancy at the moment so worried they will use this against me. Anyone else had similar experience?
Yep, I have 4 bosses (they own company) and are all the same. We have no Covid measures except hand gel and I complained. 2 days later, get a letter saying my job is at risk... Along with 3 other members of staff. They don’t give a jot about us.
