Picking your battles

For obvious reasons I'm not going to outline the details of my situation. But I just wanted to vent about battle picking!
I've got this situation where I could make merry hell but I don't think it'll do me any good in the long run. Please reassure me that I'm doing the right thing. And will it help me in the long run to drop the issue?
It's not a whistleblowing situation or anything massively illegal but it's just a situation that isn't right, it's because of the covid situation so hopefully will be a one off but it does go against rights in the workplace.
Battle picking is just part of the workplace isn't it?

I’m all for picking battles but you have to be able to live with yourself. I’ve let a few things slide over the years that still bug me but at the time all I would have done is stick a target on my back by highlighting it.

A colleague once told me that if he has an incident or run in at work, when he gets home he writes an email about it and includes all the details etc and sends it to his work email as like a record. That way if a pattern develops or if he decides to action it he has a timed, dated and detailed account. Not sure if that helps you out though OP

Thanks @FlorenceNightshade that's great for bullying but I'm not being bullied thankfully.
I just hate 'playing chess'... Wish things were more open, honest and simple.
I'd say I'm quite a considerate person but with everything that's happening I don't see why I should be anymore, really hate being forced to 'play the game'.
