Is anyone else looking for work right now?

I had a year off work recovering from an acute illness and had just started looking for work when the lockdown happened!

I've managed to get into the final two for two jobs but wasn't ultimately successful with either. One more interview coming up next Thursday and another in the pipeline, but just feeling so exhausted with it all!

All the jobs I am applying for require quite a lengthy and laborious application process and presentations to prepare for the interviews, etc.

Just thought I would post to see if anyone else out there is in the same place!? None of my friends are and I think my partner is getting sick of hearing about it! Thought this could be a good place to vent/commiserate/motivate!

I'm in more or less the same position. I've been putting off looking for a job during this lockdown but I've really got to get myself into gear and do something about it, starting with writing a decent CV which I am a bit clueless about.

It's all very stressful to think about so I put it to the back of my mind, which doesn't really help me at all.

Hi @RiveterRosie - welcome to the club! I called a couple of recruitment agencies today to try and find temporary work while I look for a more permanent role in line with my expertise and it wasn't very encouraging! They basically told me there were no temporary jobs at the moment because companies have been laying people off etc (which makes total sense). So I guess the next role I will get will be my permanent one...which makes me feel really anxious considering how hard I am finding that.

@Evierose125 - thank you! I have signed up using your link so hopefully you will get something too. What kinds of tasks did you do to make £50 if you don't mind my asking? From what I can see most of the higher paying ones require you to sign up to things which look then tricky to cancel?

I'm in the same place too. I just don't know what to do. I managed a couple of interviews earlier on in lockdown and now I'm just getting rejections straight after applications. Just want to curl up in a ball and cry every day to be honest.
I'm lucky I do have some part time work that I pray will last a while. It might not. I don't know whether to go and do a masters or something which you get a loan for and apply for jobs in a year just to avoid the massive confidence crisis that is going to come with applying for jobs throughout all of this :( Sorry that's so rubbish and negative but I am sending all good luck and positive vibes your way for interviews!

Hi JGACC

I am in a similar position. I am currently on maternity leave and was hoping to get a new job but am struggling to even get an interview, and was just told today that I didn't get shortlisted for a job that I was feeling
quite confident about. It has made me feel quite down, could do with a cry myself! I hope your job prospects have improved, but if not, you are not alone.
