Civil Service Job

Met someone who said they work in the civil service but they can't disclose where (presumably because they're not allowed to). Mentioned they're not a spy haha. My curiosity has been aroused- what civil service jobs can people not disclose please? Or are they taking the mick out of me?

A lot of work to do with defence, justice and space. Anything that might prove to be evidence in a legal trial.

I would imagine many civil service jobs are classified.

A friends DH works for Customs. He won't tell us exactly what he does or where he works, but it can involve stakeouts.

I dont tell people my Civil service job as it's annoying when people want to talk about it. If it was properly secretive he would have a decent cover story.
