Production Line Work

Posted in chat but probably not the correct area.

Anyway my entire working history has been office based, office junior, receptionist, secretary. Now, following covid 19, employer has closed our office and will hope to reopen ‘eventually’ but with no promises. That’s no good to me, I’m a single mum of three living hand to mouth, I need a steady job.

I called round all local agencies immediately and secured non food production line work from Monday. I have never worked in an environment like this before and would therefore be grateful for an insight as to what to expect.

If you work on a production line, do you enjoy it? Do people talk to one another on a production line? If I make a mistake, Is that it and the whole line is down?

I didn’t even need to interview for this job, so I imagine it must be really easy and they just assume everyone can do it, so I’m sure I’m capable but I am so worried about it. Worried about getting shouted out, messing up so badly I shut the production down, even worried I might park in the wrong parking space!

So please, if you work/have worked on a production line, how was it for you? Thank you

I did it as a student and the boredom was excruciating.
