I have 2 toddlers who are not sleeping well and all week I've felt absolutely awful. I work part-time but have them at home with me when I'm not working and constant tantrums have left me unable to get anything done and I've felt snappy and overwhelmed.
I came downstairs this morning feeling groggy to rubbish bags and nappy sacks infront of the backdoor, shoes all over my lounge (the kids have been playing with them) a sink full of dishes and general chaos.
DH and I went to bed straight after the children last night as we are too exhausted to do much else as they are up during the night and we both have colds.
Today, everyone is out, DH is at work, toddlers at nursery and being the last to leave the house as DH drops them off on his way to work, I looked around and thought "I can't leave this."
I then rang in sick.
I have never done this before, and I'm sat here enjoying the peace, catching up on emails, I've made a few appointments, cleared all the rubbish, made a soup for later on, washed up and watched TV.
I feel better but guilty that I've taken a day off sick to catch up.
I just want to feel better about it. Has anyone ever done this before?
