Upset about comments on working mothers

I’ve been back at work for a few months and really struggling to balance everything with my baby. I often feel guilty and wonder if I am doing the right thing.

Reading the comments by Boris Johnson that children of working mothers are “unloved and undisciplined” has really hurt and upset me.

This is the man who wants to be Prime Minister and this is how he thinks about us mothers who are trying to do it all and truly love our kids? The comments are just so hateful and disrespectful to all mothers, since all mothers are working mothers.

It feels as if, if he wins the election, the country will just become even more difficult and hostile towards us as we try to make ends meet and be there for our kids.

Do you think he is sitting in Number 10 worrying about what people are saying about him?

How will he make things worse for working parents if he’s elected? Anything specific worrying you?

The man’s talking bollocks.

I’m a full time working mum and a single mum. That makes me a disaster area in BJ’s view.
Yet I love my ds more than I can say, and still manage to help him with his homework, 100% school attendance, get him to swimming and martial arts classes, feed him clothe him, and raise him properly.

His dad on the other hand......

Just take no notice. x

These are comments BJ made in an article 24 years ago. His job at the time was to be inflammatory.

Today on this morning he apologised. He spoke about the things the Tories are putting in place to support working mothers.

Another Tory bashing thread by stealth

Tories deserve to be bashed. Self-serving, ethnically bankrupt, savaging this country.

And how anyone can defend the vile, racist Boris Johnson is beyond belief.

@Weescot don't you think Boris deserves to be bashed for his comments?

I'm not surprised that a huge arsehole has made arsehole like comments. It's more of a shock if he had anything nice to say about mother's.

Comments like that don’t touch me. I make my choices for me and my family, fuck anyone else’s opinion on my life.

Boris is a tit.

And it’s not whether a mother works or not that determines a happy or unhappy child.

Loving respect, kindness, fun, that deep attachment - working and non-working mothers can create that.

Why on earth would you let anything that arsehole says bother you?

Just don't vote him back in again.

Honestly hes a politician who doesn't live in the real world- regardless of his political party I wouldn't let someone you dont know influence your life. You keep going x
