Business name ideas... what do you think?

Hi all,

I'm starting up a balloon business and I am currently trying to decide on a name. The two names I have come up with are:-

Up and Away Balloons
Blow It! Balloons

Your thoughts would be welcomed on the two above names.

I prefer Up and Away balloons- blow it sounds a bit negative in my opinion.

Something easy for people to locate in a search/ local page. Name of your town/ village balloons/ Party Balloons by Kat/ Up and Away Party Ballons by Kat
(you then become the brand)

Up and Away is a bit long.

Also check on the Companies House webcheck for any business name you are going to go for - that way you can see if the name you have chosen is unique or not. Also looking on there by just typing in balloons - will show you what other companies are called. You might get some inspiration from those !

Blow it! Sounds a bit rude and naughty if you know what I mean! Lol.

Up and Away Balloons is a bit.. meh. Not memorable.

Is there something you could incorporate into the name
Of your business that is quite personal I.e. your local town or your name? Or your inspiration for starting up the business?

For example... There is a small business I follow on Facebook called "Bonnie Wee Dreams" and the lady hand makes dreamcatchers - she is based in Scotland.

Before you go into this business, are you aware that there are moves to ban Helium balloons due to the shortage of helium, and it's industrial and medical uses being given priority?

There is already a balloon company called Up Up & Away so I would think Up & Away is too similar.

In addition to checking Companies House, please check the Trade Marks Register, you'll find it on //www.ukipo.gov.uk

It'd be a costly shame to have to rebrand if some has registered an identical or similar mark (word, logo etc) for identical or similar goods or services... and they decide to block your business.

Contrary to popular belief, registering your company name on Companies House doesn't mean no one else has a, registered trade mark to block your business.

UKIPO website has a good beginners guide to trade marks.

Thank you @NameChangeTM I'd never heard of the trade marks registers before. I'll definitely check them out!
