Can I work 7 days a week?

I've just been accepted for a weekend/bank holiday etc position.

I've also applied for full time work Monday to Friday.

If I get a full time job will I still be able to keep the weekend job?

DP is in between jobs at the moment and we really need the money. He is a specialist in his field so is waiting for the right position to come up. Therefore childcare is not an issue.

I was also thinking that when DP finds the right position I'd either negotiate my full time job (if I get it). And keep my weekend job.

However, for now I just need to know if I can work 7 days a week? I know it will be exhausting but I've done it before without an issue...

I think legally you are only allowed to work 6 days in a row.

I think you'd find it exhausting. It would accumulate. There would be family demands too. At one time I had two part time jobs, tho I was probably older than you. It's not just the hours, it's two lots of management, two lots of training, two lots of colleagues...

I have just taken a job 4 days a week. My old job, was 3 days, now 2, presumably will die altogether this year?
So I'm currently working 6.

What's to stop you?
People who set up their own business work long hours, often every day, initially.

@VincentVanGoughandhisear I have never heard of this law. You can work as much as you like.

Yes it will be tiring- are they full shifts? But if it keeps your head above water for a few months then it's clearly preferable to getting into financial difficulty.

I did it for a short time in my late 20's. Combined an office job with retail.
It was ok actually.

You could see how you get on for the first month then decide whether to carry on with the weekend job? It's work a try as long as you don't burn out.

@VincentVanGoughandhisear My husband works 7 days in a row, however he then has 3 days off after one set of shifts and 4 days off after the next.

Your tax rate might make it a pointless exercise though.

I second what @fedupntired said.

I had two jobs working 7 days and it gave me an extra £40 odd a week after tax.
