I've started a new job, I was contracted to do 15 hours per week, I've looked at the rota and I'm doing 30 hours a week, I obviously can't do these hours because I didnt sign up to do 30 hours, any advice on how to deal with this?

Have you got it in writing, in your contract, that's states its a strict 15 hour role? Or is it more like a zero hours contract where 15 hours was discussed and assumed the amount but they have just added the extra amounts on? Its unusual if its a set contract as its almost like applying for part time but then being giving nearly full time hours. I'd get in contact with whoever is dealing with your employment and just get them to clarify the contacted hours with you and say that there seems be an issue as the rota says 30 hours when your contract was only for 15. Hopefully it's just an admin error? Hope you sort it!

Also how are the rota and weeks split? In my old job I would work 37.5 hours but due to the way they worked out the weeks and different shift patterns (a week started on a Sunday and the shifts were 8-4,11-7 or 4-10) some weeks it looked as though I was doing more but then it would balance itself out the next week so overall at the end of the month it worked out to the equivalent of 37.5 hours a week. That was a real problem though in my old work and something they changed as it effected alot of people!

I looked on the contract and it says 15 hours, the new rotas are all coming up 30 hours for me for the next 3 weeks, so I'm really going have to speak to someone because its really not right!
