Recruiters/hiring managers

So last week I interviewed at a company which I think went really well - we got on, and was more like an informal chat, and ended very positively.

But it's been a week and I've heard nothing. recruiter also claims he hasn't heard anything either but that they aren't looking at other candidates either - what does this even mean? Not even one word of feedback to at least put my mind at rest or to keep me updated on why it's being slow. Surely if they liked me they'd want to bring me back for a second interview ASAP? Or if they didn't like me just tell me with some feedback..??

Not even a "the director of the department is away which is delaying it" - nothing.

Some companies can take a while to get back to candidates. I'd email midday on Monday if you still haven't heard anything. Good luck

This is common. A lot of employers are just fucking rude and can't be arsed to get back to you with a 'thanks but no thanks'.

If they're not looking at other candidates they have either offered someone else, or are revising their spec.. it could be that none of the candidates they've seen are suitable and they've realised they need to pitch the job at a higher/lower level/different skills.

I'm afraid you need to grow a very thick skin when job hunting.

They might be disorganised and poor at completing feedback or they might have made an offer to another candidate and be waiting for her/him to reply. Wishing you luck op
