My computer was attacked by some sort of virus and now I am completely locked out the computer. It is a Windows 10 laptop. How could I get rid of the password never set by me?

I've used ntpasswd and passmoz for many years from XP thru Windows 8 on hundreds of systems and have blanked out the user admin password. The key word here is BLANK out the password.

It is just a matter of following the menus by selecting the drive with the sam file, listing the windows accounts, unlocking the account using the id of the account, it will be something like 0x01b3, then selecting the option to blank the password. Last, when you quit, it will ask if you would like to write the changes. Restart and at the Windows login screen click on the account that was unlocked and leave the password field blank. Once inside Windows you can go to the user account and set a new password.

Thanks, Nanket. I will follow the instructions and see how it goes.

If you have a Windows installation disk, here are "sticky keys" methods you can use to reset the unknown login password from command prompt:

It works from Windows 7 to the latest version Windows 10.

If you are going to remove the unknow password for your laptop, what needs to be done is easy, follow this program:
After success, you need to install an anti-virus software on your laptop,Google have a lot of good advice about it.
