Any freelance /contract work solicitors out there? Advice please!

Hi everyone, I’m a solicitor returning to work after two years, rather than returning to large firm I’ve found very flexible work helping a small company. I will be doing projects here and there and won’t be an employee of the company. So I am hoping to set up as self employed rather than a “personal services company” but on the SRA rules it looks like either I have to go through the trouble of setting up as a “sole practicioner” or set up a limited company. Anyone been through this before? Going round in circles!😩🙄
