Hi everyone, I am hoping you can help me with some advice from your experience of freelancing.
I am a Quality Manager in the commercial life sciences sector and I am in my early thirties. I think I probably have a good solid career path ahead of me. The thing is I can see the more I progress the more the demands of the job take me away from my family. Also I am not that into the office politics/power struggles and managing people.
My ideal career I would be working from home freelancing or self employed earning £35K/year plus in the near future but significantly more in the further on. I can't see any obvious ways to transfer my current job directly to this, however looking at my skills and experience there must be something I could turn my hand to and develop as a career. I have thought about potentially doing something in the analytics or IT sectors.
I am really just looking for some advice about where to start from my current situation?
I have a science background so am pretty good with data and data analysis. I have also done some teaching and coaching although I'm not sure this appeals to me as much as a career.
