Holiday activities for teens ?

I'm thinking of running short holiday workshops for teens which are a bit different from the usual sport, theater, cooking courses. What subjects would interest your 14-17 years olds ? How much would you be willing to pay for a 3 day course ? They would be non-residential courses. Cheers!

Well, personally mine like outdoor stuff - camping, climbing, hiking, kayaking, anything on water, tbh, but there are plenty of places they can get their fix.

At 14/15 they are generally just wanting to sleep through the holidays, and by 16/17 they are working to earn themselves some money, so I'm not sure it's a great age to target.

Do you mean aimed at them for fun or aimed at their parents as some form of life preparation. Tbh most teens prefer to amuse themselves but might be attracted by music making/recording or coding. If aimed at parents then basic recipes, money management, personal safety, health awareness/first aid, cv writing although a lot of schools would already cover it.

I was thinking either of fun topics such as fashion for girls, become a youtube sensation, create your own business OR topics which could ease them into GCSE topics eg Get hooked on Shakespeare, Austen, ...

Do you have a ready market for these topics and a sound background ? Such as contacts with a fashion school/designers or libraries/bookshops. Without such I'm really not sure how you would attract paying customers.

You're a great sounding board! I actually come from a training background for a blue chip company. I'm would definitely take external free lance consultants to bring the subject expertise. My input would be to make it a fun & effective learning journey.

Thank you - it is excellent. I'm still wondering though if there is a niche for those who can't easily get there ?

Yes - it is also very expensive so if there was something similar but cheaper available elsewhere that would be something I would support (as the mum of 2 teens).
