Many of you have followed Willowkins’ posts and have been very supportive on her threads about her DH’s cancer, through to the devastating news of his death, and now supporting her in her bereavement. Absolutely horrendous and so desperately sad, we are sorry that life has been so cruel, we send so much love to Willowkins, we are thinking of her and her wonderful DH. Her thread in Bereavment is here, if you would like to add a message.
We are so glad that Willowkins has accepted our offer of a Woolly Hug, there will be love in every stitch for her for sure, so we shall need crocheters, knitters and donors. If you would like to donate wool or funds, we shall need both and we can match you up. Lovely Willowkins has given us many ideas for her blanket, it really will be a tribute to her DH.
His initials are AJM, and hers and the rest of the family are E, J and N.
Other potential themes are: church (particularly the bread and wine as he loved communion)
Animals (particularly all kinds of dogs, cats and goldfish)
Flowers and veg (maybe even a pair of green wellies?)
Any kind of food and maybe a bottle of wine (he didn't drink but was really knowledgeable)
Any old building or ancient monument; hearts and crosses.
And finally, but v important for Willowkins, we are going to need a blue parrot - a Norwegian Blue to be precise. MrW was a Monty Python fan and would recite the Dead Parrot sketch at every opportunity - that symbolises his sense of humour.
Lots of beautiful ideas for squares, but please don’t feel daunted, simple squares are needed too.
