We are really pleased to be announcing our Woolly Hugs' Christmas fundraiser for 2014. We hope that you will be able to help us in some way.

The amazing charity Together for Short Lives supports children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and all those who support, love and care for them. From the moment of diagnosis, for whatever life holds, this charity aim to help to ensure that families make the most of their precious time together, helping a child or young person to live the best life they can, for as long as they can. So much love and compassion, what they do is extraordinary.

To read more about the work they do, see here….. We want to help them, we hope you will join us. Here’s how.

Crafting Information
We are aiming to make and sell small/lightweight Christmas craft items, and to keep postage costs to a minimum we ask that ideally anything made can be sent on to a buyer in nothing bigger than a Large envelope.

Some suggestions for you, but we are very open to others too...

  • Stocking fillers, although obviously Father Christmas is REAL, this is just to help. Smile
  • Christmas tree decorations, bunting, garlands.
  • Stockings
  • Small gifts - Little bags, purses, brooches, hair accessories, key rings, gift bags, tags, lovely lovely things!

Woolly, fabric, embroidered, all crafty crafts welcome. Items from last year can be seen in our four Christmas albums from last year on our Facebook page MNWoollyHugs.

Last posting for crafts to be Saturday 15th November please. But do post earlier if you are able to, we are ready, so any time! Please PM for the posting information.

If you would like to contribute funds to help others craft we would love to hear from you. Our Paypal is [email protected]

    Thanks Thanks

    The Event itself...
The Christmas Craft sale will take place ONLINE between the evening of Thursday 27th November and run through to Sunday 30th November and will be organised through an Event page linked through our Woolly Hugs' Facebook page, as we have done before. (MNWoollyHugs) Full details of which we will be sharing here, on FB and Twitter nearer the time. We will be auctioning a few more items this time too, again that will be through a Facebook Event page set up nearer the time.

    Huge thanks once again. Thanks

Fingers crossed this will be a great success for Together for Short Lives. A life time of difference, doesn’t get much more important that that.

Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

I've made a couple of small things so far but won't send them yet as hoping to make more. Currently trying out those granny style stars...

Are we going to get slugs with Christmas hats Grin?

Checking in. I have lots of Christmas fabric, so let me get the flat panic of DD's birthday party over next weekend (20 party bags down, 4 to go, then on to the cake...[panic]) and I will think about what to turn it into (and maybe make some more mini robins?)

I'm in. I got a bit overwhelmed with Real Life at the end of summer/start of autumn but my schedule is now clear. Currently crafting for a new baby in the family but I can make some Christmas items too.

Thank you for the good wishes Pistey. I am embarrassed to admit that I got overwhelmed with visitors and a lovely holiday (Silver Wedding Anniversary celebrations that lasted a month Blush). All partying over now Sad.

I've never done this before but would be so happy to chip in.

However I'm not on Facebook would this pose a problem in terms of joining in as I can't work out the mechanics of how I join in otherwise?

The scarf on the page is so pretty, is it just small stuff or are there large items?

Will try my best to produce something for this! Have some ideas, just a question of finding time.

(Currently have three blankets that I just need to sew in ends for and they've been that way for weeks but life has just been manic!)

Christmas isn't Christmas without a woolly slug wearing a Santa hat. I'm off to Pinterest. I may be some time.

Still a novice knitter, and not sure a knitted square on its own is that marketable (even with Pistey's gift of the gab Wink) so what about little handmade earrings and suchlike? I can just see Finn creating a disaster area of my beads though… he will love it too Grin

Thank you so much everyone Thanks

Patilla At the mo - yes just on FB, apologies re that, although we are trying to think of how to include others. It may not help, but we've had folk join FB on their MN name to take part just in the sale. But thank you so much for your offer, that's fab Thanks

Daisy It IS gorgeous, beautiful feel to it too, super soft. We always say ideally items to fit in a large envelope, but we are very open to larger things too - but really no more than small parcel size. Postage is such a nightmare other wise, we'd lose too much of our hard earned money for the charity, so that's our reason.

Mhw02 As always my lovely, you are a bloody star Thanks

Hoggy HOGGY HOGGGGGGGGGGGYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY You back yet?!

Hippo - Thank you - we really appreciate it Thanks

MiasMummy We'd love the jewellery, would be just amazing, although you mat regret it because arf at Finn Grin

Huge hugs for you Woolly xx

Right, off to drag my DC out of bed, maybe one more swig of Brew first!

Just popping this pic here to show what you can do just with a knitted square...

This was made by lovely MOS for last Christmas, so cute, she did buy the flower embellishment from ebay, but the rest is just squares, or at least straight lines. Tis very cute
