Start using Mumsnet PremiumVery sadly another blanket is needed, for Chipmonkey....
(727 Posts)We have heard the dreadfully sad news that Chipmonkey's baby daughter died unexpectedly this week. Condolence thread is here Chipmonkey has said tonight that she would love to receive a MN blanket.
Because Knotty is snowed under a mountain of wool, I am taking on the coordination for this, so if you are a donor or a crafter needing a match - please PM me and I will match you up. I know there is an amazing army of donor, knitter and crochet stars, and I am hoping that you will feel able to help with this blanket too.
So if you feel that you can help, please PM me with your offers: crafting, donating, need wool, don't need wool, and I will sort it all out, and when you are ready to post, PM me for the address.
I will have to get back on the deadline...
But thank you in advance.
*Wool is the same as before*

They are much of a muchness and can be combined.

4mm knitting needles
cast on 33 stitches (for knitters)

6" squares
Colours

If we continue with the palette we've used for previous blankets, we can use any spares.

Blues, purples, pinks, greens, silver/ greys

Hang on...

As we all know, my knitting is erm..... basic
Knotty - I have read everything you sent
Oh God, what else did I include?
I haven't contributed to an MN blanket before, but I would like to. I'm very hard up at the minute, so if possible would be very grateful for any wool that lovely MNers have donated to knit the square with, if that's ok?
<arf>
Mary, PM Piste with your address, she'll match you up with a donor.
I think I've got some wool I can donate.
BOF, Thanks.
We're using Debbie Bliss Casmerino DK and Rowan Cashsoft DK to ensure the blanket can be washed and any shrinkage of wool will be the same.

ok cool. do you want me to PM you so that you have my name, or will you PM me with an address to send it to?
how much would I need to get?
Pm me and I'll sort you out!
A few of us have used Cucumberpatch here for wool. They send very quickly. If you have a look in their Yarn Bargains section, often they have colours in the range we use, at a discount price.
I've sent you a PM Piste
I can't knit to save my life, but would be more than happy to donate money/send wool to someone who can, if you would let me?
BIWI
PM Piste, she'll match you up. Thanks.
If you would like wool sent to you, please PM Piste your address
If you would like to donate, please PM Piste
A ball of the wool we use costs around £5. It will make 2 or 3 squares.
Thanks for organising, it's so sad.
I'd love to knit, I'll PM you, Piste.
