I'm tryping at a rate of Knots (Arf!) as DS2 keeps taking pics of me, all terribly flattering obviously , DS1 is nagging me for a go on the Lego site and DH is, well, NOT cooking the dinner.

Hello ladies. I have caught up with things from the last thread and I think my vote goes to Winston's Wish because all three families have got children who have been affected by their losses, whatever the cause of that loss might be. It seems to be the most all-encompassing to me, if we are donating in their names.

Pidjin you are a marvel for finishing all those blankets. What are you going to do with yourself? A stiff drink and a long holiday I should think. Have one on me Might help with the cold too.

I'm kinda leaning to WW too, it combines children and bereavement which is kind of the point iyswim

I found out today that earn less than a 17yo stacking shelves in tesco so no holidays here (apart from the youth club jolly to poland in a couple of months WHOOO)

I'm leaning towards Winston's Wish too: it connects to what we have tried to do and is national in its work. It offers support not only to families and children but educates and supports communities.

CLIC is a charity close to my heart. They were absolutely amazing when I family I know needed support. I could list all my favourite charities but it's not about me

Might it be a good idea to ask the various charities whether they would like 'our' blanket and to send it to the one that can use it best

Morning all, still streaming but will shortly be making a stack of bandana bibs (10 for an order and some for ebay *)

I definitely think the money would be more useful to a charity than the blanket itself. There's approximately 33 balls of wool per blanket, which is £165 worth. A couple of hundred quid would make a huge difference to loads of people's lives, and if we keep pushing and pushing around MN and Ebay and other forums we're on we could potentially make a lot more

Shall I contact MNHQ to see if they've any experience of this type of thing happening before?

I'm happy to contact whatever charity to speak to their fundraising team. I'm wondering if we could do it through Mumsnet. Maybe ask HQ if we could 'sticky' a blanket auction thread. There has been so much support here, I'm sure we could raise a decent amount. I know it's difficult for HQ to be seen supporting an individual charity over others, but this has been a Mumsnet campaign really, for Mumsnetters, contributed to by Mumsnetters.

What do you think?
