Hi all, can anyone recommend me a good first book on feminism to ease me into such a broad matter??

I started with the Whole Woman then the Feminine Mystique.

How about one of the recent ones - The Equality Illusion by Kat Banyard or Living Dolls by Natasha Walter?
they are both v readable and relevant

Hope you enjoy them
I always find Germaine Greer fun to read because I never know whether I am going to agree with her or not.

I really enjoyed The Equality Illusion, it gives a good picture of where we are now (mainly UK based) and where the problems still lie.

I haven't done much reading recently but would second "Living Dolls" - hope you enjoy it. Also "Heartbreak" was an excellent read, though more about personal experience than dissecting issues. Still inspiring though and am looking forward to more Andrea Dworkin.

I recommended Living Dolls to a male, not-quite-feminist friend of mine and he enjoyed and agreed with it
